As part of the European Vocational Skills Week, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment has launched Excellence Awards to celebrate the good practices and innovative work of Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers, trainers, tutors, companies, apprentices, etc. 

This year, where possible (depending on the award category), a bonus will be given to those projects/activities that are in line with one of the European Commission's priorities for 2019-2024: A European Green Deal, including circular economy, or A Europe fit for the digital age.

The awards include one for innovative VET providers, comprising an additional special award for distance learning, aimed at VET providers that use or develop innovative distance learning solutions.

Other awards are aimed at teachers and in-company trainers, and at companies that train their employees.
