WE-RISE aims to empower underrepresented female entrepreneurs in Greentech, AgriTech and Climate Tech through a strategic blend of funding and tailored support

It's a groundbreaking initiative funded by the EU and designed to support and amplify the impact of women-led startups in GreenTech (including the circular economy, waste management and sustainable materials), AgriTech and ClimateTech across Europe. Recognising the significant barriers facing female entrepreneurs, such as limited funding opportunities and lack of access to resources, WE-RISE aims to create a more inclusive and diverse innovation ecosystem.

The project brings together a consortium of experienced partners to provide tailored support, including mentorship, cross-border collaboration and access to EUR 1.2 million in non-equity funding. Through a dual-stage support programme, WE-RISE will help 40 women-led startups scale their innovations.

The project launched an open call on 12 March, closing on 14 May. It will select 20 women-led tech startups in GreenTech, AgriTech and ClimateTech, particularly from less developed European countries, with ambitions to enhance their impact and market presence.
