CIRC-PACK final event: Innovations in plastics for a circular economy

The European Green Deal sets out ambitious goals for plastic packaging products in the EU, which include ensuring that all products on the market are reusable or recyclable by 2030.

Ambitions of such magnitude require innovation. European projects funded under the Horizon 2020 programme, such as CIRC-PACK, have worked over the past three years to develop the innovations needed to make plastic packaging waste more circular.

The CIRC-PACK project hosted its final event as a webinar on Innovations in plastics for a circular economy on 17 March. CIRC-PACK partners and around 100 participants joined the CIRC-PACK final online event in order to share key insights and engage with policy-makers, city representatives and technical experts on how best to make bio-based and recyclable plastics the norm in the plastics industry.

The event was an occasion to learn more about the European strategy for plastics in a circular economy and hear from companies on what the challenges and possible solutions to tackle plastic waste are.
