Fraunhofer IAP and re:newcell join forces to convert old cotton clothing into a mass manufacturing fibre
Description
The company re:newcell, together with a group of scientist from the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research IAP, have been looking for eco-friendly materials to overcome cotton recycling limitations. They have developed a technique that transforms recycled cotton into viscose rayon fibre made of pure cellulose, which is a suitable material for mass manufacturing.
