Improving biomass production in Latvia
Description
More sustainable forest management
In Latvia, a project developed by the Ministry of Agriculture (in cooperation with private investment) seeks to improve biomass production in the country’s forests. More than half of Latvia's surface area is made up of forests, yet not all privately owned woods are properly managed. This results in unused biomass potential. The project therefore aims to cover the costs of reforesting untended areas, enabling the production of sustainable biomass.
