Description

PSLifestyle is a free app that empowers individuals to better understand their environmental impact and supports them in adopting more sustainable and circular lifestyles. By providing personalized insights into users’ carbon footprints, it encourages changes in everyday consumption patterns that align with the principles of the circular economy.

Developed by a European consortium led by the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, the app has been adapted for national contexts across multiple EU countries and beyond. It invites users to take a simple Lifestyle Test, compare their results with national and EU averages, and create a tailored plan of actions to reduce their environmental impact. These actions include sustainable choices in areas such as food, mobility, housing, and consumption of goods—many of which promote circular practices like reuse, repair, shared use, and waste prevention.

Available online and as a mobile app, PSLifestyle bridges the gap between awareness and action. By engaging citizens in climate action and sustainable living, it plays an essential role in supporting national and European climate targets and advancing the shift toward circular consumption.

The app has been publicly endorsed by the President of Slovenia, featured in BBC’s “Purchasing Powers” series, and integrated into IKEA Poland’s sustainability outreach, reflecting its growing relevance and trust among institutions and users alike.

By guiding individuals to rethink their consumption and actively commit to circular actions, PSLifestyle is a scalable, replicable and impactful app for accelerating Europe’s circular transition from the ground up.
