PolyCert Europe is a European umbrella technical platform that supports the transition to a circular economy by harmonising certification schemes for recycled content in polymer-based products.

Rather than issuing certifications itself, it enables the mutual recognition of existing accredited certification schemes across Europe, ensuring consistent, transparent and reliable verification of recycled content, origin, traceability and mass balance.

By providing a common methodology aligned with EN 15343:2008 (European Standard specifying the procedures needed for the traceability of recycled plastics) and recognised quality standards, PolyCert Europe helps manufacturers verify the use of recycled plastics, improve traceability and chain of custody, and build confidence in recycled-content claims throughout the value chain. Its independent network of accredited certification bodies and auditors supports consistent audits, promotes high manufacturing standards, and encourages greater uptake of circular raw materials.  

Through these activities, PolyCert Europe strengthens transparency, trust and compliance, enabling businesses to increase the use of recycled materials, support circular manufacturing practices, and contribute to Europe's circular economy objectives.
