This report on Macro-economic material flow indicators for Flanders 2002-2018 prepared by Maarten Christis and An Vercalsteren (VITO) for CE Center | Circular Economy Policy Research Center provides background data for the update of four macro indicators key to monitoring the circular economy:

1. domestic material consumption (DMC)
2. direct material input (DMI)
3. raw material consumption (RMC), and
4. raw material input (RMI).

The update has been performed based on the most recently available data and extends up to and including the year 2018. The report concludes with a number of considerations on how these indicators can be used for policy.
