The OECD Programme on the Economics and Governance of the Circular Economy in Cities and Regions supports cities and regions in their transition towards a circular economy through multi-level dialogues to identify challenges and opportunities; peer-to-peer learning and key indicators for decision making and evaluation of the circular economy strategies.
The 1st OECD Roundtable on the Circular Economy in Cities and Regions will:
- provide a knowledge-sharing platform across initiatives related to the circular economy in cities and regions, countries, and constituencies including civil society, academia, business, financial sector or philanthropy;
- advise cities, regions and national governments on policy-making and implementation related to the transition from a linear to a circular economy;
- provide a consultation mechanism to co-produce an indicator framework to design, implement and evaluate circular economy strategies in cities and regions;
- discuss preliminary findings from ongoing OECD case studies in Groningen (NL); Umeå (SV); Valladolid and Granada (ES).
