Are you ready to rethink what “clean, competitive and circular” really means in the EU context? Are you working at the intersection of climate policy, sustainability and social justice?

Then register for this event and join a diverse community of youth advocates, policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and civil society to explore the real impacts of Europe’s circular economy ambitions, from the Circular Economy Act to the Critical Raw Materials Act.

The session will explore the impacts of the EU's “clean, competitive and circular” policies on communities, including indigenous peoples and young people, and consider how to foster intergenerational equity and participation, starting from the raw materials agenda.

Following the screening of the TED Talk on The hidden cost of the green transition's mineral rush, the event will feature a moderated conversation between experts, activists and interested participants.

This event will be a collaborative and creative space where perspectives meet and narratives are challenged:

  • Engage with an opening keynote address and live audience poll setting the stage for circular economy narratives.
  • Watch a thought-provoking talk that sheds light on policy blind spots and ground the discussion in people's experiences.
  • Join a fishbowl-style debate on “How circular means fair?”, where experts and young people alike step into the ring to challenge policy assumptions and propose fairer alternatives.
  • Contribute to the development of GCE’s 2025 Youth Manifesto on Raw Materials, a key input to future EU dialogues.

This EU Green Week Partner Event will take place in person at 18:00-20:00 CEST on 24 June at Mundo Trone, Rue de l’Industrie 10, Brussels. Programme. Limited seats available – register now to attend and help shape the future of Europe’s green transition. For any inquiries, kindly reach out to the Resource Justice team.
