Cementing Europe's Future: Where Next for Industrial Decarbonisation?

CEMBUREAU, the European Cement Association, invites you to take part in its annual conference. This year, the focus will be on Cementing Europe's Future: Where Next for Industrial Decarbonisation?

The event will take place at TownHall Europe, Brussels although it will also be possible to take part remotely. When registering, please specify your preferred mode of attendance.

In the wake of the 2024 European elections, there have been increasing calls for an EU industrial policy alongside the Green Deal. The decarbonisation of industrial sectors, as well as industrial competitiveness, are likely to top the European agenda in the coming years.

CEMBUREAU published its updated Net Zero Roadmap in May 2024. It looks at an increased ambition for the decarbonisation of the EU cement industry and sets out the policies needed to achieve this ambition. Circularity is a key aspect.

This year’s event will focus on advancing industrial decarbonisation. Where should industrial policy fit in the next Commission’s agenda? What are the obstacles to investments? How can we foster cooperation throughout the value chain to facilitate decarbonisation?

The event will provide a platform for EU policy makers and stakeholders to discuss these issues, key policies and how to fast forward decarbonisation investments in Europe's industries.

The event will take place on 16 October from 09:30 to 13:00 CEST.

The speakers and agenda will be announced in the next few weeks.
