From End-of-Life blades to circular products – technologies, prototypes and market pathways
REFRESH (Smart dismantling, sorting and REcycling of glass Fibre REinforced composite from wind power Sector through Holistic approach) is a European project aiming to develop and demonstrate a novel circular, smart system enabling improved recycling of glass fibre reinforced composites derived from wind turbine dismantling or reblading.
The REFRESH concept encompasses the entire value chain. The consortium is developing and scaling up technologies for smarter dismantling, shredding, sorting, mechanical and thermal recycling, microwave-assisted processes, conversion of non‑recyclable dusts, new product design using secondary materials, and advanced sustainability and traceability tools.
They are organising a workshop presenting the project's progress.
Project partners will:
- Provide updates on the scale-up of recycling technologies;
- Present newly developed prototypes and eco-design approaches;
- Introduce the digital traceability platform and sustainability assessment results;
- Discuss opportunities for building new markets and applications for secondary raw materials.
This event will take place in person during the project’s M41 General Assembly and participants are invited to join remotely. It will be held in English from 09:30-12:45 CEST on 13 May. Programme and registration.
