Scope

TCO Certified is the world-leading sustainability certification for IT products. It includes a comprehensive system of up-to-date criteria, independent verification and a structured system for continuous improvement to drive real and lasting change. They update the certification every three years in fields including circularity. The certification covers displays, notebooks, tablets, smartphones, desktops, all-in-one PCs, projectors, headsets, imaging equipment, network equipment, data storage products and servers. Basically, they identify sustainability issues and hold the IT industry to account when it comes to finding solutions to those issues.

They will be organising an event where they will discuss the steps needed to drive sustainability in four key areas: climate, substances, circularity and supply chain. They will present their new Roadmap for Sustainable IT, along with the criteria in the new generation of TCO Certified. Thousands of updates and changes have been made to drive circularity, reduce the climate impact of IT products, improve working conditions for over 100 000 people and replace thousands of harmful substances with safer alternatives.

On the agenda:

  • Re-thinking climate action! A new criteria set questions the status quo and drives emission reductions in both manufacturing and use.
  • Improving chemical safety. Learn how we’ve managed to take control of the almost uncontrollable chemicals industry, and how you can benefit as we take this further in 2025.
  • Collaboration for circularity. To create circular material flows, we need to work together.
  • Supply chain sustainability. 30 years of systematic work have resulted in more responsible factories and lasting improvements.

This event will take place online on 4 December. It will be in English. There will be two sessions, designed to suit different time zones (one starts at 09:00 CET and the other at 17:00 CET). Registration.
