At the top of the waste hierarchy but underfunded: Who should pay for re-use?

The current absence of specific policy measures to prioritise re-use (waste prevention) and preparing for re-use (waste treatment) over recycling and incineration makes the waste hierarchy look like a mere paper tiger. The Commission is looking into revising the EU Waste Framework through a new initiative aiming at “reducing waste generation including through re-use of products or components”.

During this webinar, they will try to identify which entities are the most relevant to finance the infrastructure, training, new technologies and collection and treatment services that are needed to make re-use the norm at EU level. The RREUSE members CRNI, Insieme, and Envie will be invited to present and discuss good practices together with their financing partners. This webinar will also contain an interactive session where participants will be invited to share their own good practices or brainstorm about how re-use policies should be financed.

RREUSE is grateful for the financial support of the EU Commission's Programme for Employment and Social Innovation.

This webinar will take place on 7 April 2022 at 14:30-17:30 CEST. Interpreting will be available in French, Italian, and English. Please register online.
