Worn to last: designing circular fashion
This half-day event will look at how smart design and fair producer fees can keep our clothes in use across Europe. Fast fashion is piling up, and the next EU rules will decide whether clothes are made to last. Join this event to hear what works and what comes next.
The event will include a short documentary, the views of young people and two expert panels:
- Hotspots across the global value chain: trade, due diligence and frugal innovation
- Eco-modulation and best practices for producer responsibility
It will be opened by the co-hosting MEPs, Saskia Bricmont and Delara Burkhardt, and will conclude with a look at the legislative next steps.
It will be co-organised by the Horizon Europe project TRUSTex which focuses on Advancing Sustainable Textiles in the Circular Economy through Innovative EPR Schemes, and ECESP Coordination Group member Generation Climate Europe, with Threading Change and Fashion Revolution Greece, in partnership with the European Economic and Social Committee (Section for the Single Market, Production and Consumption and Section for Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment). Young people, and members of civil society and industry will be present.
This event will take place at 14:00-17:30 CET on 5 November at the EESC in Brussels, with livestreaming for those joining online. Places in the room are limited and you will need an ID card to enter the building. You must register whether you are planning to attend in person or online.
