Amidst coronavirus crisis, a Belgian start-up offers reconditioned smartphones to old people to reconnect families
In these times of Covid-19 quarantine, old people's homes are not accessible to visitors - be they relatives or friends.
A Belgian startup ASmartWorld, that reconditions second-hand electronic equipment has had the idea of collecting and distributing reconditioned smartphones free of charge and equipped with a SIM card (at its own expenses) in old people's homes to help family members reconnect.
Should you wish to participate in this initiative by offering a smartphone you no longer use - it shouldn't be more than 5-years old in order to support video calls - just contact ASmartWorld either on Facebook or by mail.
