The Environmental Footprint (EF) methods are scientific tools and rules designed to calculate the environmental impact of products and organisations

It's an accurate way to measure sustainability, using a lifecycle assessment approach which includes recycling and recovery. Developed by the European Commission with the involvement of stakeholders, their main purpose is to provide reliable and verifiable information, enable businesses to improve their sustainability practices and help consumers make informed choices. 

The new Environmental Footprint factsheet explains how businesses and consumers can benefit from the Environmental Footprint methods and how the methods can be applied to a product.
