Partners for UNEP InTex project in Africa

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) is implementing the InTex project. This three-year project funded by the European Commission (EC) will promote innovative business practices and economic models in the textile value chain.

The InTex project has five components: two of them have global outreach and three will focus on national implementation in three countries in Africa. This call for proposals will select the three countries, along with the three technical intermediaries that UNEP will partner with to implement the three components with national focus. The project will drive the uptake of eco-innovation and Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) in SMEs in the textile sector in three countries in Africa. It will also ensure that the approach is sustainable, by strengthening the capacity of local partners who can continue to deliver knowledge and capacity beyond the project life-span.

Who can apply? Registered non-profit national organisations, providing services to industry and functioning as business intermediaries in one or more of the following areas: resource efficiency and cleaner production (RECP), circularity, lifecycle approaches and eco-innovation, including in the textile sector.

You can find more information about the call for proposals and eligibility criteria here.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 25 January 2021.
