Description

The Climate Pact 2.0 is operated by the Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity and managed by Klima-Agence, the national body promoting a sustainable energy transition. Each municipality which signs up to the Pact undertakes to implement the catalogue of measures identified by the European Energy Award. In exchange, the state subsidises the costs of climate advisors and the efforts made in line with degree of certification that each municipality achieves. The Climate Pact 2.0 will run until 2030.

The pact includes measures on greenhouse gas reduction, energy efficiency, renewable energy, air quality, the circular economy and climate change adaptation. Municipalities strive to achieve the goals set out by the government's plan and promote a sustainable and ecoresponsible energy policy. By working to implement the 64 measures set out in the catalogue, municipalities are steered towards sustainable policies in the field of energy, mobility and the fight against climate change.
