Aiming at a Circular City Portal: a one-stop shop for cities transitioning to circular economy

Description

In the framework of the Urban Agenda Partnership on Circular Economythe Association of Cities and Regions for sustainable Resource management (ACR+) co-organised a workshop with its member OVAM (the public waste agency of Flanders), the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), and Eurocities.

The aim of the workshop was to raise the awareness of cities and network organisations of the opportunities offered by the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) as a portal to circular economy strategies and case studies/good practices. Participants had the opportunity to discuss important questions, such as: what would be the ideal portal for cities? What are they looking for and what might be still missing now in the current ECESP?

Participants also contributed on a broader scale, for example by having discussed what cities need to exchange knowledge and experiences beyond a web portal, how they would like to learn from each other and how the partnership can help in this.

This workshop was organised as a side event to the European Week of Regions and Cities.
