BusinessEurope organised two circular economy events for businesses and policymakers on challenges and opportunities for scaling up circular economy solutions, one in Brno (CZ) and the other in Madrid (ES), in October 2018.
Europe needs to develop a recycled materials market. Both the EU and its Member States must do their share of work by raising awareness, by pushing to minimize land-filling or by encouraging the use of recycled materials, agreed the participants to the International Round Table Circular Economy – Challenges, Issues, Best Practices, co-organized by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and BusinessEurope in Brno on 3 October 2018.
The event was focused on best practices, barriers, implementation of the circular economy package and the perspective of Central European countries. For the full story, read the press release.
The Madrid event on 5 October 2018 was co-organised by the Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain (CEOE) and BusinessEurope.
On that occasion, Alexandre Affre, BusinessEurope Industrial Affairs Director, has presented the Circular Economy Industry Platform, which showcases companies’ good practices in becoming circular and challenges they have to face. According to BuinessEurope, the industry’s role in the transition to circular economy is pivotal.
