Green Deal Circular Procurement
The Green Deal Circular Procurement was set up by Circular Flanders, in collaboration with The Shift, the Flemish Association of Cities and Municipalities, and Bond Beter Leefmilieu and ran from 2017 to 2019. It familiarised companies, NGOs and governments with procurement of innovative, circular products and services, thus promoting the circular flow of materials, the use of new business models and the establishment of strategic partnerships among the value chain.
The GDCP also aimed to adjust official standards and legislation to facilitate circular procurement. Besides the learning network and experiments, research on indicators and tools was carried out to create open source information. This research was performed together with the Netherlands so it would be valid for all purchasers, countries and the EC. Results of this research and lessons learned from the experiments were disseminated to a large group of private and public organisations.
- An online platform was created for the participants of the Green Deal, in which webinars and guidance were made available.
