Groningen Seaports: working towards a bio-based, circular economy
Enriching unwanted residues to achieve zero waste
Groningen Seaports is the economic operator, developer and port authority for the port of Delfzijl, Eemshaven and adjoining industrial sites. It is part of a cluster which reuses and processes everything that results from production in factories or that is unwanted by society in order to create resources, energy and new products.
Groningen Seaports is committed to a sustainable circular value chain in which waste no longer exists. Their focuses include the use of bio-based raw materials, innovative technologies for separating plastics, and upcycling materials. They recycle used materials and focus on creating new bio-based packaging materials in close cooperation with their chemical cluster. The aim is to achieve a completely bio-based and circular economy.
