Description

Complementing traditional mechanical recycling efforts, Plastic Energy has developed a patented Thermal Anaerobic Conversion (TAC) technology to convert end-of-life plastic waste into a new feedstock, called TACOIL, which can be used in the manufacturing of virgin-quality plastics suitable for food-grade packaging. The company can process mixed, contaminated and multi-layered plastics, such as flexibles, which typically cannot be mechanically recycled. This includes high and low-density polyethylene, as well as polypropylene and polystyrene.

Main results

For every tonne of end-of-life plastic waste processed, 850 litres of TACOIL are produced.
