2025 Emerging Microbial Technologies Conference

The Emerging Microbial Technologies Conference is organised by three postdoctoral researchers from Ghent University in partnership with the Center for Microbial Ecology and Technology (CMET) and the Young Belgian Society for Microbiology (YBSM). It aims to provide an inspiring platform to explore cutting-edge microbial solutions addressing global challenges in health, industry, the environment and the transition to a circular economy.

The conference will foster a collaborative environment where researchers, industry professionals and policy makers can connect, share insights and inspire actionable strategies to drive sustainable progress. By emphasising the potential of microbial technologies in waste valorisation, resource recovery and sustainable production, the conference will highlight their critical role in delivering on circular objectives.

This event focuses on empowering early-career researchers, offering them the chance to showcase innovative work and catalyse partnerships that can translate research into impactful, real-world solutions.

The conference will take place on 25 April in Ghent, Belgium. Registration and programme.
