2nd International Conference on the Circular Economy - Pathway towards sustainable development

The 2nd International Conference on the Circular Economy aims to promote the circular economy, raise awareness across all disciplines, fields and sectors and communicate the latest advances in this rapidly developing field. It will bring together international actors from science, industry, academia and civil society and provide a platform for discussion, knowledge exchange and showcasing circular solutions.

The broad topics for the conference are:

  • Business, circular economy and sustainability, 
  • Industrial ecology, circular economy and sustainability
  • Global, regional and national circular economy and sustainability policies.

Each of these topics will cover a wealth of issues, from circular business models to industrial symbiosis and circular economy to circular bioeconomy - the full list of subtopics is set out on their website.

The keynote speakers will be Julian Kirchherr from Roskilde University in Denmark, Simos Malamis from the National Technical University of Athens and Georgios Arampatzis from the Technical University of Crete.

The conference will be held in person and in English on 17–19 September in Chania on the island of Crete, Greece. It will be organised by the Hellenic Society for Circular Economy (HSCE) with the International Society for Circular Economy and HSCE's publishing partner, Springer and co-organised by the Technical University of Crete and the Democritus University of Thrace.
