2nd session of the Global Gateway Working Group on Circular Economy in Latin America and the Caribbean
Global Gateway is the EU's strategy to boost smart, clean and secure connections in digital, energy and transport sectors, and to strengthen health, education and research systems across the world. Through this tool, the EU contributes to narrowing the global investment gap worldwide. It is active in various areas, including Latin America and the Caribbean. The EU-LAC Global Gateway Investment Agenda is a roadmap of what the EU plans to achieve in this region.
The first working group meeting identified priorities for advancing the Global Gateway Investment Agenda in the circular economy sector. The second session will bring together representatives from the European private sector, EU Delegations, the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Partnerships, EU Member States, financial institutions, cooperation agencies and other stakeholders. They will discuss how to promote innovative technologies, business models and strategies for scaling up Global Gateway investments in the circular economy, including waste management, in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
Due to room capacity limits, in-person attendance will be limited to one representative per institution. Participants are encouraged to attend in person but for those unable to do so, the session will be livestreamed. Registered participants will receive a connection link prior to the event.
The agenda will be sent to registered participants. If you have any questions, please contact INTPA-B2@ec.europa.eu.
This event will take place at 10:45–12:15 CET on 10 March in Room 2D of the Albert Borschette Conference Centre, Brussels (and via livestream). You will need to register by 3 March.
As of 1 January 2025, new transparency measures entered into force by extending the requirements of the Transparency Register to all managers (see Decision (EU) 2024/3082). When a meeting with an interested stakeholder takes place, the meeting details will be made public and published on the Transparency Register website. Given the new rules, please make sure your company holds a Transparency Register number. You will only be able to attend the working group if your company is registered or if you have at least provided an application number. Public authorities or international organisations do not need to register.
