Closing material and energy loops and developing building concepts for flexible use: many circular economy strategies have great potential for the construction and building industry and the real estate sector. "Green" and circular buildings are expected to pave the way for a more sustainable future for the industry; digital technologies are revolutionising the construction process itself, and may foster the emergence of connected smart cities. Prefabrication and modular construction methods are setting new standards for efficiency and flexibility.

On the other hand, construction companies face bottlenecks in the supply of raw materials and construction materials, coupled with high demand along the entire process chain.

This event will launch a circular building and construction network. It will be organised by PwC Germany and the Internationale Bauausstellung 2027 StadtRegion Stuttgart GmbH, and will take place in Stuttgart, Germany, on 7 November.

Various practitioners and industry experts will give insights into circularity, covering topics such as innovative materials, regulatory frameworks and financial perspectives. An interactive session will also be an opportunity for networking and discussions. The event, which will be held in German and take a national perspective, is relevant to all players active in the buildings and construction sector.

The meeting will focus on economic business models and sustainable transformation, with a focus on circularity. In addition to insights from industry and applied research, there will be interactive sessions, such as the World Café which will  tackle Circular building vs. financial attractiveness - we can do it! The event will also explore current and future regulation, international implementation and scaling, and building materials and innovative recycling technologies.

It is aimed at practitioners and decision-makers from the fields of design and planning, building materials production and construction management, and representatives of sustainability departments.
