Online workshop on the certification scheme for the implementation and monitoring of the waste management system

This online workshop on 23 April (10:00-12:00 CEST) will focus on the certification scheme for the implementation and monitoring of the waste management system using cold chain traceability and PAYT (Pay-As-You-Throw) schemes.

It is organised by the University of Copenhagen as part of the FOODRUS project, which aims to prevent food loss and waste and promote resource efficiency across the agri-food value chain.

FOODRUS seeks to create resilient local food systems in Europe by developing 23 circular solutions that include:

  • technological solutions (ICT tools to manage food loss and waste),
  • social measures (educational materials and activities to promote sustainable consumption habits),
  • organisational solutions (last mile networks to foster local consumption and donation),
  • and fiscal measures (new PAYT schemes).

These solutions will all feed into the FOODRUS Suite, an online dashboard that users can access in order to monitor the impact of initiatives to reduce food waste.

This is the sixth of eight workshops focusing on innovative solutions for surplus food loss and waste prevention and will be facilitated by Marianne Thomsen and Anna Laybourn. The FOODRUS project is also conducting a survey on ways to improve food systems.

See the agenda for more details, including a list of speakers, and the registration form.

The dates and topics of the following workshops will be announced soon. Please visit the FOODRUS website for updates.
