Pop-Machina: International Policy Roundtable

Local and EU policy makers are often called to promote circular economy policies, while also promoting innovation and inclusion at the city level. Pop-Machina aims to demonstrate the potential of the maker movement for the circular transformation of cities through the operation of circular makerspaces in the diverse socioeconomic context of 7 EU cities.

During the Pop-Machina's International Policy Roundtable on 14 September 2023, the project aims to engage with key policy stakeholders to present to them the project’s policy recommendations as well as experiences, findings and knowledge gained, and get their valuable feedback through interactive sessions.

Highlights of the event include:

🌱 Policy recommendations unveiling: Participants will have the chance to review the policy recommendations emerged from the collaboration of partners in more than 4 years of project implementation. These recommendations hold the potential to contribute to transformative changes, driving sustainable practices and fostering circular economy innovation within the EU.

🔍 Sharing experiences and findings: Participants will be able to share their experience and perspective as well as hear from others on successful strategies, potential barriers and groundbreaking approaches, all aimed at advancing the circular economy and maker movement.

🚀 Lessons learned and best practices: The roundtable will serve as an avenue for sharing the invaluable lessons learned along the way. Engaging discussions will revolve around the most promising practices identified, encouraging a dynamic exchange of ideas among participants.

🌐 Interactive panel dialogues: Thought-provoking panel discussions will delve into the intricate interplay between policy, sustainability and innovation. Diverse viewpoints from policymakers, industry leaders, academics and maker representatives will enrich our understanding and drive collaborative action.

🤝 Networking and collaboration: After the event’s completion, participants will have the chance to engage in networking and collaboration to connect with fellow stakeholders who share a dedication for shaping a sustainable future through circular economy principles and maker culture. As we stand on the threshold of a more sustainable and interconnected future, your presence and insights are instrumental in shaping policies that embody resource efficiency, creativity and lasting impact.
