Most cities and regions recognise that the circular transition is about more than materials and technology. For the transition to succeed, circular policies and projects need to work for and with people. However, translating this ambition into day-to-day policy and projects can be challenging. Should you focus on participation, community initiatives, local jobs, social impact measurement or something else entirely? And where do you start when resources and capacity are limited?

The good news is, you don’t have to start from scratch. Across Europe, local authorities are building on existing initiatives, networks and community energy to connect social and circular objectives in practical ways. Drawing on insights from the CCRI Community of Practice on Social Impacts of the Circular Transition, this workshop will explore what those approaches look like in practice. Through real-life examples and peer exchange, you'll discover practical ideas that can be adapted to your own situation.
