The Renewable Materials Conference will present leading solutions and innovations for replacing fossil carbon with biomass, CO₂ utilisation and recycling.

It will cover the entire value chain: alternative carbon feedstocks, the chemical industry, the materials sector, product manufacturers, brand owners, investors and policymakers. There will be around 75 presentations, 20 panel discussions and up to 15 workshops.

Topics:

22 September

Defossilisation of the chemical industry. This critical topic covers alternative naphtha, biorefineries, waste valorisation, chemical recycling and carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) – all of which represent solutions for both commodities and fine chemicals. It will also explore sustainable and renewable feedstocks and the circular economy. The day will conclude with a panel discussion on “Competitiveness and Strategic Autonomy“, a crucial aspect for delivering on defossilsation.

23 September

Fossil-free plastics: With more than 20 polymers already commercially available from biomass, CO₂ and chemical recycling, this topic offers solutions for all sectors, including packaging, textiles, automotive and consumer goods. The day will come to a close with the audience voting for the winner of the “Renewable Material of the Year 2026” innovation award.

24 September

Policies, frameworks and regenerative business models: This day will explore policies, market demands, relevant frameworks and innovative business models that are needed for a successful transition to renewable carbon and sustainable carbon cycles. It will also look at the latest scientific and policy developments and new trends for biodegradation.

This event will take place on 22-24 September 4–5 March in Siegburg near Bonn/Cologne, Germany and online. Buy your ticket
