This online seminar on the role of urban, university and school Living Labs in promoting circularity is part of the From Niche to Centre - City Centres as Places of Circular Lifestyles (NiCE) project. The project is funded by Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE, a European Union funding programme that supports transnational cooperation.

The circular economy is increasingly coming to be recognised as necessary - but more needs to be done to get the general public on board. Living Labs can help here. They are open innovation ecosystems in real-life environments, which collect feedback throughout the product's lifecycle to make it as sustainable as possible.

Living Labs provide real benefits for engaging different stakeholder groups. They can contribute to promoting circular lifestyles and creating sustainable values.

The seminar will introduce the role of urban, university and school living labs in promoting circularity. After three enlightening presentations, participants will be able to ask questions.

Presenters:

  • Carolina Innella, Research scientist, ENEA (experience of urban and school living labs)
  • Waqas Mazhar, PhD candidate, BME (landscape of university living labs)
  • Alessandra Bonoli, Full Professor of Raw Materials Engineering, University of Bologna (experience of a university living lab).

The seminar will take place on 30 September at 14:30-15:30 CEST. There is no charge for participating. Registration.
