UNLOCK networking event: Advancing the circular economy in agriculture
The UNLOCK project, funded by the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking, aims to design economically and environmentally sustainable and innovative value chains to create a feather-based bio-economy. Literally: fifteen partners from seven EU countries are working to transform waste from the poultry sector into bio-based products for agricultural applications.
The project is organising a networking event focusing on advancing the circular economy within the agricultural industry. It will bring together industry leaders, experts and stakeholders from across Europe to explore ways and means to transform agricultural waste into innovative, eco-friendly products.
Discussions will centre on sustainable methods for repurposing agricultural by-products into valuable bioplastics and other bio-based materials. This event will include:
- Sessions on the European vision for the circular economy in the agri-food sector and the EU’s feather-based economy: the challenges ahead;
- An exhibition area to showcase product samples;
- Networking opportunities.
The event will take place on 22 October from 14:30 to 18:15 CEST in Brussels. It will be in person.
