Workshop and book launch: Accelerating Sustainability in Fashion, Clothing and Textiles

Tackling climate change, waste and social issues are now high on the agenda for policymakers, consumers, business and academia when it comes to the fashion, clothing and textiles sector.

The workshop on 6 March at 13:30–17:30 GMT at the Artworkers Guild in London is organised by The Centre for Sustainable Design, part of the University for the Creative Arts' Business School for the Creative Industries. It will present, highlight and discuss the state of play and future issues related to sustainability in this sector. There will be presentations by the editors (Professor Martin Charter, Dr Bernice Pan and Professor Sandy Black) and contributors of a new book on Accelerating Sustainability in Fashion, Clothing and Textiles. This book will be presented, with feedback and discussion encouraged.

There will be roundtable discussions covering key topics highlighted in the book (such as the circular economy, innovation and new business models, design and materials) and networking opportunities.

There is no charge for participating. You need to register (as soon as possible as spaces are limited) by emailing your name, job title and organisation. You will be sent confirmation once your email has been received. The organisers are hoping to livestream the event, so if you wish to receive the link please send your details to the same email address.
