TAIEX-EIR PEER 2 PEER is an EU technical assistance and policy support instrument. It provides tailored support to national, regional and local EU Member state authorities implementing environmental policy and legislation and connects them with peers across Europe. 

The programme applies 3 decades of experience built up by the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX) instrument to the implementation challenges mapped in Environmental Implementation Review country reports. These challenges include circular economy; waste management, wastewater treatment and reuse; nature protection and biodiversity; bioeconomy; green and sustainable public procurement, eco-design and eco-labelling.

This initiative offers practical solutions through:

• Expert missions – Experts from one Member State authority visit another such authority to give advice and exchange experience on a specific topic (2-5 days).
• Study visits – Representatives of one Member State authority visit another one to learn from peers and exchange good practices (2-5 days).
• Workshops - EU Member State experts hold workshops for representatives of one or more EU Member States’ public authorities (2 days).

The working language is English, with reimbursement for interpreting if justified. The programme is open to public institutions involved in implementing EU environmental policy and law in the EU Member States.
