The ECO-FUTURE project was a two-year transnational cooperation project on Teaching Circular ECOnomy to the FUTURE Generations.

It produced a series of educational tools in the field of the circular economy. The materials provide an upskilling pathway programme with which teachers can help 6-12 year old pupils explore the topic and values of the circular economy and sustainability.

The educational materials seek to:

  • equip educators with the skills needed to teach children about environmental, circularity and green issues;
  • promote the use of alternative and engaging educational tools, such as Tinkering and Non-Formal Education, to accelerate learning about sustainability;
  • stimulate young pupils to explore environmental issues, engage in problem-solving and develop a sustainability mentality.

The Manual and the Toolkit, together with the Cartoons, can help educators promote interaction, creative expression and active citizenship among young students. The end goal is to familiarise young people with the circular economy and sustainability.

ECO-FUTURE (“Teaching Circular ECOnomy to the FUTURE generations”) was an Erasmus Plus Cooperation partnership between Finland, Italy and The Republic of North Macedonia. It aimed to promote a thriving, supportive scheme for teachers, educate children on the circular economy, and stimulate positive society-wide benefits.
