Re-Glass: recycling all types of glass
The Hungarian company’s mission is to ensure that glass waste becomes a valuable resource rather than ending up as landfill. It operates a nationwide glass recycling system covering bottle glass, flat glass, automotive windshields, solar panel glass and other industrial glass waste.
Through advanced sorting and processing technologies, Re-Glass separates contaminants and prepares recycled glass that meets the quality requirements of glass producers. Its modern sorting technology separates colours and removes metals, plastics, paper, ceramics and other impurities, improving the quality and recyclability of recovered glass.
Re-Glass contributes to the circular economy by closing the loop between waste generation and industrial production: collected glass is transformed into a secondary raw material that can re-enter manufacturing processes, reducing the need for virgin resources and supporting more efficient resource use.
Through partnerships with municipalities, businesses, collection organisations and glass manufacturers, the company promotes responsible waste management and highlights the environmental value of keeping materials in circulation.
- Re-Glass can collect and process 42 000 tons of waste glass in a year, diverting glass waste from disposal and returning it to industrial use.
- It can manage multiple glass streams (e.g. bottle glass, flat glass, windshields, solar glass and industrial glass waste), enabling broader circularity.
- Its capacity to remove metals, paper, plastics, ceramics and wire glass components can ensure the purity and usability of recovered glass while preventing non-glass materials from entering production cycles.
