Description

TEXroad is a neutral, Netherlands-based foundation that connects and aligns textile data from different sources. Its purpose is to promote and enable circularity in the textiles industry.

The foundation helps collect and report data on materials quantities, characteristics, locations and flows – basically, what is it, where is it, who has it, how much is there, and where is it going.

Their platform — the TEXroad Data Hub — brings textile data together in one interoperable environment for regions, municipalities, their textile partners and multi-stakeholder projects. It aligns and centralises data from different sources for consistent reporting, maps where and when textiles are collected, tracks materials and test results between project partners, and shows collection and sorting results through dashboards, maps and metrics. In this way, progress can be followed over time and compared across regions.

Main results

The Data Hub makes textile data interoperable and actionable across the value chain. Data that was scattered across collectors, sorters, recyclers, municipalities and regions is brought together so that post-consumer value chain actors can see what is flowing, where it has been and where to intervene, and public sector actors can report and shape policy using the same figures.
