This report Circular economy indicators for person mobility and transport presents the set of indicators comprising the mobility system, as part of the CE monitor developed by the policy research center. The indicators show that as it stands, the mobility system is far from circular and is in fact becoming more linear.

The mobility system is consuming ever greater amounts of materials, with more vehicles which are used less intensively and efficiently. The modal shift towards public transport or bicycles, which use fewer materials per person transported, is simply not progressing.
