Bridging regions: Circular economy and international cooperation
This event will explore how the circular economy drives EU strategic cooperation with Asia, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Ibero-America.
It is part of Regions Connect: Innovation, Sustainability & Global Cooperation, a high-level seminar dedicated to driving regional innovation, territorial cooperation and environmental sustainability under the European Green Deal.
Bringing together European institutions, embassies, experts and international stakeholders, the event will facilitate discussions on European partnerships in the circular economy, funding opportunities and global cooperation projects.
Spread across three regional sections, the session will explore cooperation dynamics between the European Union and three major global regions:
- Asia: Eurasian perspectives on the circular economy and innovation,
- Middle East and North Africa (MENA): Euro-Mediterranean cooperation for sustainable development at institutional level, with a presentation of projects taking place on both shores of the Mediterranean,
- Ibero-America: The Ibero American Summit on the circular economy, regional innovation and future funding opportunities in the sector.
The aim is to foster strategic partnerships in the circular economy sector across different regions. These partnerships will advance sustainability, drive innovation and strengthen international cooperation, creating a more resilient and resource efficient future.
It will take at the European Committee of the Regions building in Brussels and online, at 16:00 to 17:30 CEST on 11 June. Registration.
