Kick-off meeting for the Industrial Symbiosis Standardisation Roadmap working groups

The Industrial Symbiosis Standardisation Roadmap is being developed by CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, CENELEC, the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization, and DIN, the German Institute for Standardization. It will drive and guide the standardisation of industrial symbiosis in Europe.

The Roadmap is part of the Horizon Europe RISERS project addressing the landscape of IS-related standardisation. It will be developed in collaboration with a network of experts and practitioners from various sectors, focusing on:

  • identifying challenges and opportunities for industrial symbiosis.
  • addressing gaps in existing standards and policy frameworks.
  • developing actionable recommendations for fostering resource efficiency.

The kick-off meeting of the working groups which will be developing the Industrial Symbiosis Standardisation Roadmap will take place shortly. These groups will establish a structured and widely accepted approach and framework for industrial symbiosis standardisation.

This session will introduce the objectives, structure and expectations of the working groups, setting the stage for collaboration on key standardisation needs. Participants will gain insights into the thematic focus areas, discuss initial priorities and refine the approach to tackling industrial symbiosis challenges across various sectors. The meeting will also outline the roles, deliverables and timeline.

This meeting will take place online at 09:00-11:00 CET on 28 March. Registration.
