Circular Threads is a study observing the level of sustainability and circularity in Italy. It proposes a practical and purposeful project starting from Italy's Biella textile district which seeks to apply circular economy principles to the textile industry, increasing the rate of recovery, recycling and reuse in the industry and spreading information about it.

The first study came out in 2021: it took stock of the situation and sought to accelerate the transition to the circular economy in the textile sector.

Circular Threads 2.0 will update the results of the first study and build on them. It takes another look at the level of sustainability and circularity in northern Italy and proposes a practical and purposeful project starting with the Biella textile district and then expanding to all of Italy. It aims to accelerate the rate of recycling, reuse and material recovery in textiles, promoting eco-design and the transition to a more sustainable industry. The study maps innovative and circular projects, sees what progress has been made since 2021 and explores challenges.

Tondo will host a webinar presenting the Circular Threads 2.0 study. It will set out the main themes of the study, and some of the companies mentioned in it will tell their stories and discuss the relationship between the textile industry and sustainability.

The webinar will take place at 17:00-18:00 CEST on 2 April. It will be in English. Registration.
