The European Commission completed an evaluation of the Directive on end-of-life vehicles in 2021, identifying various shortcomings. The Commission is now working on an impact assessment through an open public consultation in support of a possible revision of the ELV Directive.

You can contribute to this consultation by filling in the online questionnaire by 26 October (midnight CEST). You can submit your responses in any official EU language. If you are unable to use the online questionnaire, please contact the Commission using this email address.

Stakeholders’ contributions (answers, data, additional information, etc.)  will be significant for the upcoming steps in reviewing the EU rules on the ELVs. This is why the Commission encourages everyone to participate in the consultation process actively and share this information with their counterparts.
