FOODY EU: using circular and sustainable food practices to unlock NEET youth's entrepreneurial skills

Description

FOODY EU is an Erasmus Plus Cooperation partnership in youth between Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, Spain, and Cyprus to promote circular economy and food waste management among NEET youth, supporting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The FOODY EU project aims to improve the employment and entrepreneurial skills of young people by applying circular economy principles. It promotes sustainable practices and community organisation by providing information on the management and environmental impacts of food waste. Using the food industry and waste management sector as a concrete model, it develops an empowerment program that instills in youth the value of resource conservation. It builds the capacity of young educators and workers by targeting and assists in their skills development through their participation in FOODY EU.

The programme was tested with a specific group of young people, enlisting the active support of local stakeholders such as farmers, food waste managers, local policy makers and circular economy experts. The project results were validated through feedback from target groups and key stakeholders.
