Description

In France, Saint-Gobain ISOVER has launched ISOVER Recycling, the first service enabling the recycling of glass wool waste recovered after the construction, demolition or renovation of a building, back into new building insulation products. This service provides a response to new environmental regulations and the recent French circular economy roadmap, offering a solution for tons of glass wool waste that might otherwise end up in landfill. It is born from a partnership between ISOVER and different professionals from the recycling sector (waste collectors, trade associations). After several years of R&D and assessing market needs, ISOVER and its partners naturally came together to create this new offer for a rapidly changing construction waste recycling market.

Main activity field
Main results
  • ISOVER Recycling is in the early stages of its journey: starting with two pilot regions in southeast France and the Paris region, it eventually aims to provide this service nationwide.
  • Other Saint-Gobain companies in countries such as Switzerland, Denmark and Sweden, already offer glass wool recycling services for pre-consumer waste. Thanks to this service, ISOVER will continue to increase the share of recycled material in its products, untapping a source of raw material and increasing the cullet already coming from other recycling channels.
