Circular ReBoundary: A new online resource for circular economy professionals

Description

Circular ReBoundary is an intiative set up as part of the EU CircEUlar project focusing on developing circular pathways for an EU low-carbon transition. It is a four year European Research and Innovation Action which began in September 2022.

Circular ReBoundary is intended for professionals interested in circular economy practices, whether they are newcomers to the field or experienced practitioners looking to deepen their knowledge. While the resource is particularly relevant for the buildings, mobility and manufacturing sectors, the rebound effects and stakeholder testimonials sections offer insights applicable across all industries.

This digital resource takes the form of an insightful learning journey, including:

  • a curated repository of circular economy good practices, including a listing of other existing repositories to ensure quality referencing and easy access to relevant resources.
  • real-world insights from industry peers collected during a dedicated workshop, showcasing the challenges and lessons learned from implementing circular practices.
  • CircEUlar project survey results on behaviour across five European countries: the UK, Lithuania, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. These surveys examine consumer attitudes toward car sharing, second-hand purchases, repair services, space sharing in housing and downsizing preferences, as well as employee behaviour and their willingness to propose circular initiatives within their organisations.

Circular ReBoundary explores the often-overlooked rebound effects of circular practices: the mechanisms that can reduce or even negate the beneficial impacts of circular economy initiatives on resource use.
