GHform: Leasing as a way of extending the life of outdoor furniture
Fancy leasing a lamp post for a decade?
The Danish company GHform produces outdoor furniture and inventory, such as benches, waste bins and street lights. The company is now also offering municipalities the chance to lease its cast iron lamp posts, as an alternative to simply purchasing them. The lamp posts are collected after 10 to 15 years, to be reused, dismantled and refurbished, or recycled into new products (melted down), depending on the state of the returned products.
- This business model can save municipalities the cost of renovation and disposal.
- GHform retains access to raw materials (primarily cast iron), securing business continuity and saving on raw material costs, which can constitute up to 60% of production costs.
