Description

Insect Farm Hub is a one-stop shop for learning how to turn organic waste into animal feed and fertiliser by means of black soldier flies

It's been set up by the Finnish company Manna Insect, which is very active in this field and feels strongly that knowledge should be shared. Their goal is to empower people in developing countries to learn how to use black soldier fly larvae to upcycle biowaste into affordable, high-quality animal feed. They have spent years learning how to maximise the capacity of black soldier fly larvae, creating simple, cost- and power-efficient technology and infrastructure enabling anyone to harness the full potential of black soldier fly larvae.

The Hub is full of practical information. You can opt to use the free or the premium (paid for) content. Both have training courses, webinars, podcasts and a tool to either test your production assumptions and assumed monetary value or to track and predict your actual farm metrics, input and output levels, schedules, task and workforce management and the business case. The premium content includes more advanced information.

There is also a marketplace where users can sell and buy any insect farming-related products, services, tools or technology (there's no charge for using it).

Insect farming uses organic waste as a raw material. The Insect Farm Hub equips prospective farmers with the knowledge they need to get into this particular branch of the circular bioeconomy.
