Circular Climate Booster Event

The Circular Climate Booster consists of two webinars and a public live event focusing on two key global topics which are having a major impact on climate change: textiles and plastics. The two webinars on 7 April provide platforms for best practices that contribute to a circular economy and are combating climate change.

The webinars aim to identify conditions for change and for (new) partnerships to emerge. The results will be presented and discussed in a live broadcasted, international round table with high-level policymakers, including the Dutch State Secretary of Economic Affairs and Climate.

On 12 April, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management will host a high-level round table meeting as a prelude to the two sessions of the World Circular Economy Forum in the Netherlands (Spring 2021) and Canada (Autumn 2021). Ms Stientje van Veldhoven, the Dutch State Secretary for Infrastructure and Water Management whose portfolio includes the circular economy, together with high-level officials from other countries, will talk about what is needed to speed up the transition to a circular economy.

The round table follows two international webinars on textiles and plastics. Industries and organisations from all around the world pooled best practices in the area of the circular economy and climate change. They also pinpointed what they need from world leaders to strengthen their initiatives and business models. Ms Van Veldhoven and high-level officials from other countries will discuss these policy recommendations with the chairs of the two webinars.
